This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit our website, register for programs, or participate in activities at our physical location.

By using our website or enrolling in our programs, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We collect this information only from a parent or legal guardian, not directly from children under 13, in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

03 Sharing of Information

We may share information with service providers who help us operate (payment processors, scheduling software, email platforms), under confidentiality obligations; with legal authorities if required by law or to protect the safety of a child or staff member; and with emergency contacts in the event of a health or safety incident. We do not share children's personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

04 Photos and Video

During programs and events, we may take photos or video for use in marketing materials, social media (including Instagram), our website, and promotional content.

We ask parents/guardians to indicate photo/video consent preferences on our registration or waiver forms. If you do not wish for your child to be photographed or featured in promotional materials, please notify us in writing, and we will honor that request going forward. You may withdraw consent at any time.

Children's Privacy (COPPA Notice) — We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through our website. All registration, intake, and accommodation information is collected from a parent or legal guardian, who may review, update, or request deletion of their child's information at any time.

05 Your Rights (California Residents)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you or your child; to opt out of any sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information); and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Contact us using the information in Section 9 to exercise these rights.

06 Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, maintain accurate business, tax, and safety records, and comply with legal requirements. Registration and waiver records are typically retained for the duration of a family's enrollment plus a reasonable period afterward.

07 Data Security

We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information, including secure payment processing and restricted access to intake and accommodation records. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

08 Safety, Participation & Liability

Workbits is a hands-on makerspace where children and adults may work with real tools, equipment, and workshop materials. Participation involves inherent risks, and all participants must follow facilitator instructions and posted safety rules. Workbits is not a childcare or drop-off facility — a parent, guardian, or authorized caregiver must remain on-site during their child's visit.

A parent or legal guardian must review and electronically sign the complete Workbits Liability Waiver & Release, accepted during registration through Mindbody, before a minor participates. Adult participants must sign the applicable adult waiver.

This is a brief summary only. For full details, see the Safety, Participation & Liability page, which is the controlling reference alongside the signed waiver.

Safety, Participation & Liability

Effective July 13, 2026  ·  Last updated July 13, 2026

Workbits is a hands-on makerspace where children and adults may use or work near real tools, equipment, machinery, electronics, heat-based devices, cutting tools, adhesives, resins, small components, glass, and other workshop materials.

Even with reasonable safety procedures, age restrictions, posted rules, and facilitator guidance, hands-on activities involve risks. These may include burns, cuts, punctures, pinches, eye injuries, electrical or mechanical injury, exposure to fumes or irritating materials, choking hazards, slips, trips, falls, and property damage.

01 Participant Conduct & Equipment Access

Participants must follow all facilitator instructions and posted safety rules. Tools and equipment may only be used with permission and appropriate supervision. Workbits may restrict access to equipment based on a participant's age, experience, behavior, or ability to follow instructions. Participation may be suspended or ended when someone's conduct creates a safety risk.

02 Supervision

Workbits is not a childcare or drop-off facility. A parent, legal guardian, or authorized responsible caregiver must remain on-site and is responsible for supervising their child except while the child is directly participating in an activity led by a Workbits facilitator.

03 Emergency & Medical Information

Parents and guardians must provide accurate emergency-contact, allergy, sensitivity, and relevant medical information and keep it current. In an emergency, Workbits may contact emergency services and arrange necessary medical assistance when the parent or guardian cannot immediately be reached.

04 Property & Belongings

Parents or guardians may be responsible for intentional or reckless damage caused to Workbits equipment, property, or the studio. Workbits is not responsible for personal belongings that are lost, stolen, or damaged.

Required Waiver — A parent or legal guardian must review and electronically sign the complete Workbits Liability Waiver & Release before a minor participates. Adult participants must sign the applicable adult waiver.

This page provides a general summary and does not replace the complete waiver. The version presented and accepted during registration through Mindbody is the controlling agreement.
